Being Appropriately Selfish

You deserve to make yourself a priority.  It is easy to dismiss our own needs, wants, and even personal goals in an effort to promote the needs and wants of others, particularly of individuals we admire, love, and support.  Being selfless is wonderful and a highly regarded trait but it can come with a price if there is no balance.  Give yourself permission to be appropriately selfish.  Take time to acknowledge your areas of progress as well as the areas in your life that require further growth; and then set realistic goals and expectations of yourself so as to meet you where you are at.  It is not selfish to want to work on bettering ourselves.  Be intentional with the time that you do have. Honor yourself.  Respect yourself.  Care for yourself.  Love yourself.
